The Security Council could request IAEA to provide details of the withdrawing State's compliance with safeguards requirements, processing and enrichment capabilities and any holdings of enriched uranium and plutonium.

9. The Conference believes that NPT nuclear supplier States should, through appropriate means, seek a halt in the use of nuclear material and equipment previously supplied to the withdrawing State, and the elimination of such items or their return to the original supplier.

C. Recalling the Non-Proliferation Treaty's standing as a cornerstone of international security, depositories and States parties should undertake consultations and conduct every diplomatic effort to persuade the withdrawing State to reconsider its decision.

8. It follows from this that, for withdrawal from the Treaty to take effect, the withdrawing State Party should ensure i) that any obligation under the NPT has been fully implemented before the withdrawal; and ii) that it should immediately return to the suppliers the nuclear equipments and materials obtained under Article IV of the NPT.
