315. The pattern of labour for women in the Sudan is centred on the informal and agricultural sectors, but the expansion of education and other social services in the country has led to changes in that pattern. In particular, it has encouraged women to enter the formal sector, where their numbers in low- and middle-ranking positions are relatively high.
