The report reviewed the current status of the atlas and of the mapping problems, and summarized the conclusions for the most important steps in the development of the new World Atlas of Desertification.

The first progress report on the task of the work plan reviewed the current status of the atlas as well as of the mapping problems, and summarized the most important steps in the development of a new World Atlas.
