2. Subject to the provisions of subsections (6), (7) and (8) of this section, no person shall be treated in a discriminatory manner by any person acting by virtue of any written law or in the performance of the functions of any public office or any public authority.

85. Article 149(1) of the Constitution provides for the rule of law whereby no law shall make any provision that is discriminatory either of itself or effect and further that no person shall be treated in a discriminatory manner by any person acting by virtue of any written law or in the performance of the functions of any public office or any public authority.
85 - تنص المادة 149 (1) من الدستور على سيادة القانون بحيث لا ينص أي قانون على أي حكم يكون تمييزيا في حد ذاته أو في تأثيره، كما ينص على ألا يعامل أي شخص بطريقة تمييزية من جانب أي شخص يعمل بحكم أي قانون مكتوب أو عند أداء مهام أي وظيفة عامة أو أي سلطة عامة.

37. Section 18 (2) of the Constitution provides that " no person shall be treated in a discriminatory manner by any person acting by virtue of any written law or in the performance of functions of any public office or public authority " .
37- تنص المادة 18(2) من الدستور على أن " لا يعامل أي شخص بطريقة تمييزية من قبل شخص يعمل بموجب أي قانون مكتوب أو لدى أدائه للوظائف التي يقتضيها أي منصب عام أو سلطة عامة " .

3 The United Nations Act (and any regulations made thereunder) do not apply to financial institutions, which are subject to the directions of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) under section 27A of the MAS Act (section 2(2) of the United Nations Act). The directions are binding on the financial institutions concerned notwithstanding any other duty imposed on the financial institutions by any rule of law, written law or contract.
