The Zayed International Prize for the Environment endeavours to develop more partnerships and better cooperation at all levels to advance the environmental cause and to bring it to the attention of both policymakers and the public.
تسعى جائزة زايد الدولية للبيئة إلى إقامة مزيد من الشراكات وإلى زيادة التعاون على جميع المستويات من أجل النهوض بقضية البيئة وجعلها محل اهتمام مقرري السياسات والجمهور بوجه عام.

To encourage Arab award programmes relating to the environment and sustainable development, such as the Zayed International Prize for the Environment and the Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Preservation;
- تشجيع برامج الجوائز العربية الخاصة بالبيئة والتنمية المستدامة مثل جائزة زايد الدولية للبيئة وجائزة السلطان قابوس.

Expresses its sincere gratitude to the Government of the United Arab Emirates, to the Zayed International Prize for the Environment and to the authorities of the Emirate and city of Dubai and, through them, to the people of United Arab Emirates, for the cordial welcome which they accorded to the Conference and to those associated with its work and for their contribution to the success of the Conference.
يعرب عن امتنانه العميق لحكومة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وإلى جائزة زايد الدولية للبيئة، ولسلطات إمارة ومدينة دبي، ولشعب الإمارات العربية المتحدة من خلالهم لما أولوه من ترحيب للمؤتمر وللمتصلين بعمله، ولمساهمتهم في نجاح المؤتمر.

The awards were presented by the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid alMaktoum, patron of the Zayed International Prize.

1. The ceremonial opening of the ninth special session of the UNEP Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum was held on Monday, 6 February 2006, in conjunction with the award ceremony for the third Zayed International Prize for the Environment.
1 - أُقيم حفل افتتاح الدورة الاستثنائية التاسعة لمجلس الإدارة/المنتدى البيئي الوزاري العالمي يوم الاثنين الموافق 6 شباط/فبراير 2006 بالاقتران مع حفل منح جائزة زايد الدولية الثالثة للبيئة.

Staff participated in the Dubai Festival of World Deserts, organized jointly by the World Desert Foundation and the Zayed International Prize for the Environment, which served, inter alia, as a unique platform for the launching of the IYDD.
