Sie stellte fest, dass Aktivitäten in Meeresgebieten außerhalb der nationalen Hoheitsbereiche durch das Seerechtsübereinkommen der Vereinten Nationen geregelt werden, und ersuchte den Exekutivsekretär, zusammen mit der Abteilung Meeresangelegenheiten und Seerecht und anderen zuständigen Organisationen Optionen zur Vermeidung und Verminderung der Auswirkungen bestimmter Aktivitäten auf ausgewählte Lebensräume am Meeresboden weiter zu analysieren.
وأكد أن اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لقانون البحار تنظم الأنشطة في المناطق البحرية الواقعة خارج نطاق الولاية الوطنية، وطلب إلى الأمين التنفيذي أن يقوم، بالتعاون مع شعبة شؤون المحيطات وقانون البحار والمنظمات ذات الصلة الأخرى، بإجراء المزيد من التحليلات للخيارات لمنع الآثار الناجمة من بعض الأنشطة على بعض الموائل المختارة في قيعان البحار والتخفيف منها.
