The discussions during the Meeting of Experts demonstrated the potential benefits from closer coordination in the area of victim assistance between CCW Protocol V and the wider CCW community as well as with related international legal instruments, including the Convention on Anti-Personnel Landmines, the Convention on Cluster Munitions and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, as called for also by the Plan of Action.

Participants suggested the following areas for possible further work under the Nairobi work programme, taking into consideration the deliberations during the expert meeting:
