٨٣ - وفيما يتعلق بالمادة ٥ من الاتفاقية، أعرب أعضاء اللجنة عن رغبتهم في معرفة ما إذا كانت عمليات الشرطة تخضع ﻷي مراقبة؛ وما هي الاجراءات المتخذة فيما يتعلق بضحايا التمييز العنصري من جانب الشرطة، وما إذا كان المسؤولون عن التمييز يخضعون ﻹعادة التدريب أو لاجراءات تأديبية.

The members of the Committee also wished to receive additional information on the competence and powers of the Autonomous Communities in relation to the central Government.

324. In connection with article 11 of the Convention, members of the Committee wished to receive further information on the implementation of the article, particularly regarding the length of pre-trial detention, the rules and regulations governing preventive detention and the right of an individual to legal assistance from the moment of his arrest.
٤٢٣ - وبخصوص المادة ١١ من الاتفاقية، أعرب أعضاء اللجنة عن رغبتهم في الحصول على مزيد من المعلومات عن تنفيذ هذه المادة، لا سيما ما يتعلق منها بمدة الاعتقال قبل المحاكمة، والقواعد واﻷنظمة التي تحكم الاعتقال الوقائي وحق الفرد في الحصول على مساعدة قانونية منذ لحظة اعتقاله.

213. With regard to article 2 of the Convention, members of the Committee wished to know what were the legislative rules ensuring the independence and impartiality of the judiciary.

49. Concerning article 3 of the Convention, members of the Committee wished to have more detailed information about the country's attitude with regard to the sanctions against South Africa.
٩٤ - وفيما يتعلق بالمادة ٣ من الاتفاقية، أعرب أعضاء اللجنة عن رغبتهم في الحصول على معلومات أكثر تفصيلا عن اتجاه البلد فيما يتعلق بالجزاءات المفروضة على جنوب افريقيا.

287. With regard to article 3 of the Convention, members of the Committee wished to receive further information on the State party's position on apartheid.

In that regard, members of the Committee wished to have further information on restrictions on the media in Kosovo and on problems that had arisen in the educational sector there following the reported changes in the school curricula which suppressed Albanian culture.

With reference to article 1 of the Convention, members of the Committee wished to know which specific laws and rules regulated immigration, whether immigration was a matter for the provincial rather than the federal authorities and whether immigrants had the opportunity to maintain their cultural identity.

294. Concerning articles 5 to 9 of the Convention, members of the Committee wished to receive further information on the legislative measures taken to provide judges in Canada with the competence of universal jurisdiction on torture-related matters.

396. With reference to article 3 of the Convention, the members of the Committee wished to know whether an arrested person could be extradited to a country where he would be in danger of the death penalty and, if not, whether there were provisions in Chinese legislation which enabled the person concerned to be brought before the competent national courts.
٦٩٣ - وباﻹحالة الى المادة ٣ من الاتفاقية، أعرب أعضاء اللجنة عن رغبتهم في معرفة ما إذا كان يمكن تسليم الشخص المعتقل الى بلد يواجه فيه خطر توقيع عقوبة اﻹعدام عليه، وإذا لم يكن ذلك ممكنا، ما إذا كانت التشريعات الصينية تتضمن أحكاما تكفل للشخص المعني المثول أمام المحاكم الوطنية المختصة.
