In May 1997, Mr. Alvaro de Soto paid a visit to Myanmar.

During the debate, the Council was briefed by the Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and Personal Representative of the Secretary-General, Alvaro de Soto.

Assistant Secretary-General Mr. Alvaro de Soto, representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, has visited Myanmar several times and has met and held discussions with officials of the Government.

" On 13 February 2007, the Security Council held an open debate on the situation in the Middle East, in which Mr. Alvaro de Soto, Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, gave a briefing.

فقد اجتمع السيد ألفارو دي سوتو الأمين العام المساعد للشؤون السياسية مع وزير الخارجية أو أون غيو في 25 أيلول/سبتمبر 1998 بمقر الأمم المتحدة.

In accordance with the understanding reached in the Council's prior consultations, the President, with the consent of the Council, extended an invitation under rule 39 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure to Alvaro de Soto, Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Cyprus.
