In accordance with the coordination mandate conferred on it by the General Assembly in resolution 58/289, the World Health Organization (WHO), working in close cooperation with the United Nations regional commissions, facilitated the creation of the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration, which holds biannual meetings to coordinate the road safety activities implemented by its 77 partner organizations.
