4. In addition, the General Assembly affirmed that the Conference should:

Emphasizing that the Conference should contribute to the effective implementation of the Convention and its Protocols, he underlined that technical cooperation, training and prevention were priority concerns of developing countries.
وشدد على أنه ينبغي للمؤتمر أن يساهم في تنفيذ الاتفاقية وبروتوكولاتها تنفيذا فعالا، وأكد في ذلك الصدد على أن التعاون التقني والتدريب والوقاية تمثل كلها شواغل ذات أولوية لدى البلدان النامية.

14. The Committee stressed that the Conference should yield concrete results and that realistic and feasible follow-up activities should be planned to implement the recommendations made by the Conference.

ونرى أنه ينبغي للمؤتمر أن يفتح أبوابه للمجتمع المدني، مما قد يعود بفائدة جمة ويساهم إسهاماً كبيراً في النقاشات التي نجريها هنا حول شتى المسائل.

We believe that the Conference should give this problem top priority in its agenda, and should not be deflected from pursuing this course by any other priorities, since it is of prime importance to many countries in Africa, and could contribute significantly to their stability and peaceful development.
ونرى أنه ينبغي للمؤتمر أن يولي هذه المشكلة أولوية عليا في جدول أعماله، وألا تحرفه أية أولويات أخرى عن هذا الاتجاه أو تحول بينه وبين مواصلة السير فيه، حيث أنه اتجاه بالغ اﻷهمية بالنسبة لبلدان كثيرة في أفريقيا وقد يسهم إسهاماً لا يستهان به في استقرارها وتنميتها السلمية.

10. The representative of Kenya pointed out that the Conference should take note of the special needs of developing countries in the areas of capacity building and sensitization of communities to competition policy and law.
10- وأشار ممثل كينيا إلى أنه ينبغي للمؤتمر أن يحيط علماً بالاحتياجات الخاصة التي تواجهها البلدان النامية في مجالات بناء القدرة وتحسيس المجتمعات المحلية بقانون وسياسة المنافسة.

With reference to proposal CD/1840, it was widely emphasized that the Conference should commence substantive work as a matter of urgency.
وفي ما يتعلق بالاقتراح CD/1840، جرى التشديد على نطاق واسع، على أنه ينبغي للمؤتمر أن يبدأ عمله الموضوعي على سبيل الاستعجال.

In this regard, my delegation is of the view that the Conference must focus on and take concrete steps towards nuclear disarmament which are achievable in the short term while at the same time embarking on a path towards a comprehensive nuclear disarmament regime.
