This annual report is prepared in response to Executive Board decisions 2008/4 and 2008/22, which requested UNICEF to report annually to the Executive Board on the evaluation function and on findings and recommendations of major evaluations.

Also at its seventh session, the SBSTA requested the secretariat to report annually on:(a) the application of the criteria adopted to select the experts; (b) the regional participation of experts by task, with a breakdown of participation by country; and (c) regional participation and promotion of capacity-building.

The General Assembly in its resolution 48/141 of 20 December 1993 decided to create the post of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and, inter alia, requested the High Commissioner to report annually on her activities, in accordance with her mandate, to the Commission on Human Rights and, through the Economic and Social Council, to the General Assembly.
٣١- قررت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ٨٤/١٤١ المؤرخ في ٠٢ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ٣٩٩١، استحداث منصب مفوض اﻷمم المتحدة السامي لحقوق اﻹنسان وطلبت إلى المفوضة السامية، من جملة أمور، أن تقدم تقريراً سنوياً عن أنشطتها، وفقاً لولايتها، إلى لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان، وكذلك إلى الجمعية العامة عن طريق المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي.

33. In its resolution 12/8, the Council requested the independent expert on the issue of human rights obligations related to access to safe drinking water and sanitation to present an annual report in accordance with its programme of work.
