وأكد المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي من جديد، في القرار ١٩٩٢/٥٦، أن تدفق الموارد الخارجية الكافية لدعم الجهود الوطنية للبلدان النامية ضروري وطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يبقي المسألة قيد الاستعراض.

20. In its decision 1993/232, the Council took note of the oral report made on behalf of the Secretary-General by the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and of the proposals for future action on this issue contained therein, and decided to keep the matter under review.

وأحاط المجلس علما، في القرار نفسه، بتقرير اﻷمين العام عن اتجاهات استكشاف الطاقة وتنميتها في البلدان النامية (A/47/202-E/1992/51)، وطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يبقي المسألة قيد الاستعراض المستمر وأن يقدم إلى المجلس في دورته الموضوعية لعام ١٩٩٤ تقريرا عن الجهود المبذولة في هذا الشأن.
