The Assembly requests the Special Committee on the Situation with regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples to continue to examine the question of Pitcairn at its next session and to report thereon to the Assembly at its fiftieth session.
وتطلب الجمعية إلى اللجنة الخاصة المعنية بحالة تنفيذ إعلان منح الاستقلال للبلدان والشعوب المستعمرة مواصلة دراسة مسألة بيتكيرن في دورتها المقبلة، وأن تقدم تقريرا عن ذلك إلى الجمعية في دورتها الخمسين.

On the basis of that report, the Assembly decided that the Working Group should continue its work during its fiftieth session, with a view to finalizing the Agenda for Development, and report to the Assembly at its fiftieth session.

وفي الفقرة ٣ من القرار نفسه دعت الجمعية مجلس اﻹدارة إلى النظر في التقرير آنف الذكر في دورته الثامنة عشرة وتقديم استنتاجاته وتوصياته إلى الجمعية في دورتها الخمسين وذلك عن طريق المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي.

7. In the same resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit a report to the Assembly at its fiftieth session on the progress made in the implementation of the resolution and of the recommendations of the mid-term review.
٧ - وفي القرار ذاته طلبت الجمعية العامة إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم إلى الجمعية في دورتها الخمسين تقريرا عن التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ هذا القرار وفي تنفيذ توصيات استعراض منتصف المدة.

5. In resolution 49/209, the Assembly took note of the Secretary-General's report (A/49/643) and, in paragraph 15, requested that a report on the study be submitted to the Assembly at its fiftieth session.

٤ - تطلب إلى لجنة الاشتراكات أن تستجيب على النحو الملائم للنداءات المقدمة من الدول اﻷعضاء، وفقا للمادة ٠٦١ من النظام الداخلي للجمعية العامة، لاستعراض أنصبتها المقررة، وأن تقدم تقريرا عن ذلك إلى الجمعية في دورتها الخمسين.

2. Invites the Secretary-General, in pursuance of General Assembly resolution 49/22 B of 20 December 1994, to include in his report to the Assembly at its fiftieth session on the early-warning capacities of the United Nations system with regard to natural disasters proposals for further improvements in the field of disaster-related telecommunications;
٢ - يدعو اﻷمين العام، عملا بقرار الجمعية العامة ٩٤/٢٢ باء المؤرخ ٠٢ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ٤٩٩١، إلى أن يدرج، في تقريره إلى الجمعية في دورتها الخمسين بشأن قدرات الانذار المبكر لدى منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة فيما يتعلق بالكوارث الطبيعية، اقتراحات بمزيد من التحسينات في ميدان الاتصالات المتصلة بالكوارث؛

2. By its resolution 50/43, the General Assembly authorized the Secretary-General to carry out in 1996 and 1997 the activities specified in the report on the Programme that he had submitted to the Assembly at its fiftieth session (A/50/726).
٢ - وفي القرار ٥٠/٤٣، المؤرخ ١١ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٥، أذنت الجمعية لﻷمين العام بأن يضطلع في عامي ١٩٩٦ و ١٩٩٧ باﻷنشطة المحددة في التقرير الذي قدمه إلى الجمعية في دورتها الخمسين )A/50/726(.

2. The General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to continue to mobilize and coordinate resources and support to the Sudan Emergency Operation and OLS, to assess the emergency situation in the country and to report thereon, as well as on the recovery and rehabilitation of the country, to the Assembly at its fiftieth session.
٢ - وطلبت الجمعية العامة كذلك إلى اﻷمين العام أن يواصل تعبئة وتنسيق الموارد والدعم لعملية الطوارئ في السودان وعملية شريان الحياة للسودان، وتقييم حالة الطوارئ في ذلك البلد، وأن يقدم إلى الجمعية في دورتها الخمسين تقريرا عن ذلك وعن إنعاش البلد وإصلاحه.

(d) To report on the observance of the Year at the national, regional and international levels, and to submit specific proposals on the follow-up to the Year, including a draft plan of action, if deemed appropriate, to the Assembly at its fiftieth session;

The present report has been prepared pursuant to General Assembly resolution 50/53, taking into account the modalities set out in the report of the Secretary-General to the Assembly at its fiftieth session (A/50/372 and Add.1) and the views expressed by States in the debate of the Sixth Committee during that session, as read together with General Assembly resolution 63/129.

At the same session, the General Assembly approved a scale of assessments for the years 1995, 1996 and 1997 and requested the Committee on Contributions to respond appropriately to appeals for review from Member States submitted in accordance with rule 160 of the rules of procedure of the General Assembly and report thereon to the Assembly at its fiftieth session (resolution 49/19 B).
وفي الدورة ذاتهــا، وافقت الجمعية العامة على جدول اﻷنصبة المقررة للسنوات ١٩٩٥ و ١٩٩٦ و ١٩٩٧؛ وطلبت إلى لجنة الاشتراكات أن تستجيب على النحو الملائم للنداءات المقدمة من الدول اﻷعضاء، وفقا للمادة ١٦٠ من النظام الداخلي للجمعية العامة، لاستعراض أنصبتها المقررة، وأن تقدم تقريرا عن ذلك إلى الجمعية في دورتها الخمسين )القرار ٤٩/١٩ باء(.

40. Finally, as regards requests by both the Assembly and the Council for proposals to simplify existing reporting requirements, the Secretary-General has elaborated on this matter in detail in his progress report to the Assembly at its fiftieth session (A/50/697 and Corr.1, sect. F) and has reaffirmed the recommendations in his report to the Assembly at its fifty-first session (A/51/501, sect. C).

The United Nations became involved when the Secretary-General was asked by the Managua Conference and the General Assembly to explore the ways and mechanisms in which the United Nations system could support the efforts of Governments to promote and consolidate new or restored democracies and to submit a comprehensive report on the subject to the Assembly at its fiftieth session (see resolution 49/30).
وأصبحت الأمم المتحدة مشاركة في هذا الشأن عندما طلب مؤتمر ماناغوا والجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يدرس السبل والآليات التي يمكن بها لمنظومة الأمم المتحدة أن تدعم الجهود التي تبذلها الحكومات في سبيل تعزيز وتوطيد النظم الديمقراطية الجديدة أو المستعادة، وأن يقدم تقريرا شاملا عن ذلك إلى الجمعية في دورتها الخمسين (انظر القرار 49/30).
