٣٠ - تنص المادة ٢١ من الاعلان العالمي لحقوق اﻹنسان في الفقرة ١ على أن لكل فرد الحق في الاشتراك في إدارة الشؤون العامة لبلاده إما مباشرة أو بواسطة ممثلين يختارون اختيارا حرا.

51- ينص الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان على الحق في المشاركة السياسية. فقد جاء في المادة 21 أن " لكل شخص حق المشاركة في إدارة الشئون العامة لبلده، إما مباشرة أو بواسطة ممثلين يختارون بحرية " .

Article 21.1 and 21.3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights provides that everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives, and that the will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections.
٧٤١- وتنص الفقرة ١ من المادة ١٢ والفقرة ٣ من المادة ١٢ من الاعلان العالمي لحقوق الانسان على أن لكل شخص حق المشاركة في إدارة الشؤون العامة لبلده، إما مباشرة أو بواسطة ممثلين يُختارون في حرية، وأن إرادة الشعب هي مناط سلطة الحكم؛ ويجب أن تتجلى هذه اﻹرادة من خلال انتخابات نزيهة تجري دورياً.
