We encourage States whose experts are serving on the Commission to do their utmost to ensure the full participation of those experts in the work of the Commission, including in the meetings of subcommissions.

If developing countries do not participate in Subcommittee meetings, because they are not members or are not able to fund their travel costs, the outcomes of such meetings are less likely to represent a true consensus and the issues may be reopened at the annual session of the Committee, which would slow down its work.
وإذا لم تشارك البلدان النامية في اجتماعات اللجان الفرعية لأنها ليست أعضاء فيها أو لأنها غير قادرة على تحمل تكاليف السفر، فالمحتمل ألا تكون نتائج هذه الاجتماعات تعبيرا عن توافق حقيقي للآراء، وقد تُثار القضايا نفسها مرة أخرى في الدورة السنوية للجنة، وهو ما من شأنه أن يبطئ عملها.

6. Notes the importance of adequate representation from developing countries in the meetings of the subcommittees and working groups, and in this regard invites the Secretary-General to intensify efforts to seek appropriate resources;
