The Conference notes that the Islamic Republic of Iran, in view of the persistent risk of use or threat of use of biological weapons, once more submitted a formal request to the Conference for the above- mentioned purpose.
2- وينوه المؤتمر أن جمهورية إيران الإسلامية، نظراً لما يشكله استعمال الأسلحة البيولوجية أو التهديد باستعمالها من خطر دائم، قد قدمت مجدداً إلى المؤتمر طلباً رسمياً للغرض المذكور أعلاه.

1- ويُذكِّر المؤتمر بأن جمهورية إيران الإسلامية قد قدمت رسمياً في المؤتمر الاستعراضي الرابع لاتفاقية حظر الأسلحة البيولوجية اقتراحاً بتعديل المادة الأولى وعنوان الاتفاقية لينصا صراحة على حظر استعمال الأسلحة البيولوجية.

The Conference notes that the Depositaries have notified all States Parties of the proposal and calls upon all States Parties to convey their views to the Depositaries on whether the Convention needs to be amended to make clear explicitly that the use of biological weapons is effectively prohibited.
3- ويلاحظ المؤتمر أن الجهات الوديعة قد قامت بإخطار جميع الدول الأطرف بهذا الاقتراح، ويطلب إلى جميع الدول الأطراف نقل آرائها إلى الجهات الوديعة بشأن ما إذا كان يلزم تعديل الاتفاقية بحيث يتضح صراحة أن استعمال الأسلحة البيولوجية محظور فعلياً.

13. Germany suggests that the Review Conference request the United Nations SecretaryGeneral to initiate an update of the lists of qualified experts and laboratories available for the investigation of alleged use of biological weapons.
13- وتقترح ألمانيا أن يطلب المؤتمر الاستعراضي إلى الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة البدء في إجراء تحديث لما هو متاح لغرض التحقيق في ادعاءات استعمال الأسلحة البيولوجية من قوائم الخبراء المؤهلين والمختبرات المؤهلة.

14. Germany also suggests that the Review Conference invite the United Nations SecretaryGeneral to review and update, where necessary and appropriate, the existing guidelines and procedures in order to ensure that they conform to the current technological standards and that they allow for a timely and effective investigation of alleged use of biological weapons.
14- وتقترح ألمانيا أن يدعو المؤتمر الاستعراضي الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة إلى القيام، حيثما كان ذلك ضرورياً وملائماً، باستعراض وتحديث المبادئ التوجيهية والإجراءات القائمة من أجل ضمان اتفاقها مع المعايير التكنولوجية الحالية ولضمان أن تسمح بالتحقيق في الوقت المناسب وعلى نحو فعال في ادعاءات استعمال الأسلحة البيولوجية.
