The delegation also reported on the progress made in establishing the national preventive mechanism under the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (OP-CAT) by amending the Law on the Parliamentary Human Rights Commissioner and creating a legal basis for the Ombudsman Plus model of the national preventive mechanism.
