The Committee was informed that the assets proposed for donation had been transferred, in advance of the decision of the General Assembly, to the Government of Ethiopia, the Government of Eritrea and the African Union.
وأُبلغت اللجنة بأن الأصول المقترح التبرع بها حُولت إلى حكومة إثيوبيا وحكومة إريتريا والاتحاد الأفريقي قبل أن تتخذ الجمعية العامة قرارا في الأمر.

The Secretary-General indicates that, in keeping with the regulation, the selection of assets proposed for donation to the Government is based on a determination that they are not required, nor are they suitable for transfer to other missions or for temporary storage at the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi, Italy (UNLB).
ويبين الأمين العام أنه، عملا بالقاعدة المالية، تم اختيار الأصول المقترح التبرع بها للحكومة بعد التأكد من أنها غير لازمة أو مناسبة للنقل إلى بعثات أخرى أو لتخزينها مؤقتا في قاعدة الأمم المتحدة للوجستيات.

4. The assets proposed to be donated to the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina include ablution and accommodation units, light vehicles, communication and office equipment, data-processing equipment, generators and medical accommodation and equipment (ibid., para. 6).
4 - وتشمل الأصول المقترح التبرع بها إلى حكومة البوسنة والهرسك وحدات اغتسال وسكن، ومركبات خفيفة، ومعدات للاتصالات وتجهيزات مكتبية، ومعدات لتجهيز البيانات، ومولِّدات ومعدات طبية وتجهيزات سكنية (المرجع نفسه، الفقرة 6).

3. The selection of assets proposed for donation has been guided by the principles endorsed by the General Assembly in section VII of its resolution 49/233 A of 23 December 1994 and is based on a determination that the assets are not required, nor are they suitable for transfer to other missions or for temporary storage at the United Nations Logistics Base in Brindisi, Italy.
3 - واستند اختيار الأصول المقترح منحها إلى المبادئ التي أقرتها الجمعية العامة في الجزء سابعا من قرارها 49/233 ألف المؤرخ 23 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1994 ويستند إلى قرار يقضي بأن الأصول غير لازمة و غير ملائمة لتنقل إلى بعثات أخرى أو لتخزن مؤقتا في قاعدة الأمم المتحدة للسوقيات في برينديزي، إيطاليا.

(g) Security equipment (weapons). The assets proposed for donation under this heading include side arms (pistols) and gas canister launchers currently used by the National Police exclusively for training purposes.

16. The Advisory Committee notes that, since UNMEE has already placed the assets proposed for donation in temporary custody of the recipients, the Secretary-General is now seeking the ex post facto approval of the General Assembly for this transfer.
16 - وتلاحظ اللجنة الاستشارية أن الأمين العام يسعى الآن إلى الحصول على موافقة الجمعية العامة على ذلك التحويل بأثر رجعي، ما دام أن البعثة قد وضعت بالفعل الأصول المقترح التبرع بها تحت الإشراف المؤقت للجهات المستفيدة.

These assets, however, remain of operational value to local authorities, and the importance of the assets proposed for donation to the Government of Sierra Leone is pointed out in the twenty-first report of the Secretary-General on UNAMSIL (S/2004/228, para. 59).

Prefabricated buildings. The assets proposed for donation under this category have been received from peacekeeping and other missions and include hard-wall and soft-wall accommodation facilities, ablution, kitchen and storage units as well as tentage.
