:: Regarding the meeting of states Parties referred to in Article III paragraph 3 of the draft treaty (CD/1777), a question was raised as to its nature, the numbers required for a quorum and the status of its decisions.

[4. The group of experts should meet at least 4 months before the meeting of the Conference of the Parties referred to in paragraph 1 above to review the extension request report and any other available information relevant to it and develop recommendations to the Conference of the Parties, taking into consideration technological and economic aspects, including availability of alternatives and emissions control options.

In response to the request by the Conference of the Parties referred to in paragraph 2 above, the Secretariat planned, developed and conducted webinars in English, French and Spanish to assist parties in implementing the obligations under Article 5 of the Rotterdam Convention, with emphasis on the process for submitting notifications of final regulatory action and the information requirements.
5 - واستجابة لطلب مؤتمر الأطراف المشار إليه في الفقرة 2 أعلاه، وضعت الأمانة الخطط لتنظيم حلقات تدارس على شبكة الإنترنت ثم وضعتها وأجرتها باللغات الإنجليزية والفرنسية والإسبانية() لمساعدة الأطراف في القيام بإلتزاماتها بموجب المادة 5 من اتفاقية روتردام، مع التركيز على عملية لتقديم إخطارات بالإجراء التنظيمي النهائي ومتطلبات المعلومات.
