At its April 2004 meeting, the Working Group invited Parties and others to provide comments to the Netherlands and the Secretariat by 31 January 2005, to enable a revised version of the paper to be prepared for consideration by the Open-ended Working Group at its session in 2005.

In response, the Open-ended Working Group invited Parties and others to provide comments by 30 September 2003 and requested the Secretariat to continue to work on the elaboration of the assessment procedure for leachate and to gather additional information about practical experience and suggestions for potential worst-case scenarios for other materials.

At its third session in April 2004, the Open-ended Working Group invited Parties and others to provide comments and suggestions to the Secretariat on the harmonization of the forms for the notification and movement document, preferably by 30 June 2004.

By decision II/4, the Open-ended Working Group invited Parties and others to submit to the Secretariat comments and information concerning this issue and established a small intersessional working group with the task of preparing a report to be presented to the Open-ended Working Group at its third session.

Invites Parties and others to use the technical guidelines and to submit, not later than two months before the ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties, a report to the Conference of the Parties, through the Secretariat, on their experience in the application of the guidelines, including any difficulties or obstacles encountered, with a view to improving them as necessary;

8. Invites Parties and others to disseminate widely the set of practical manuals referred to in paragraph 7 of the present decision and other tools developed by the expert working group and to facilitate their use by utilizing resources, both financial and in kind, for the translation of these tools into relevant languages;

9. Also invites Parties and others to provide to the Secretariat information on activities undertaken to ensure the environmentally sound management of hazardous wastes and other wastes, including any examples of national waste prevention programmes, and requests the Secretariat to make this information available on the Basel Convention website;

By paragraph 8 of decision VIII/16, the Conference of the Parties invited Parties and others to submit comments to the Secretariat on issues referred to in subparagraphs 7 (b) and 7 (c) of that decision.

Also invites Parties and others to provide comments to the delegation of the Netherlands, with copy to the secretariat, by 31 October 2003 to enable the delegation of the Netherlands to prepare a consolidated revised version of the draft paper on the hazardous characteristic H10 for consideration by the Open-ended Working Group at its third session and submission to the Conference of the Parties at its seventh meeting;

In its decision OEWG-9/8, the Openended Working Group invited additional parties to nominate experts to participate in the intersessional working group, and invited Parties and others to submit comments by 31 October 2014 on the definitions and explanations contained in the report of the meeting and on the options for further steps towards the consistent interpretation of terminology, including possible voluntary and legally binding options.

II. Implementation Pursuant to decision VI/24, the Open-ended Working Group, by its decision OEWG-II/4, invited Parties and others to submit comments received from Parties and others on a set of questions and issues set out in that decision and established a small intersessional working group to prepare a report analysing and synthesizing the comments received for consideration by the Open-ended Working Group at its third session.

Invites Parties and others to provide comments with regard to a technical review of the wording of the entries in each of the language versions of Annexes VIII and IX of the Basel Convention, and particularly of entry B1030, by 31 December 2006, to be compiled by the Secretariat for further consideration by the Open-ended Working Group at its sixth session.
