The United Nations, and, in particular UNICEF and its partners, have worked closely with the Government of Sri Lanka to put in place a policy framework for the care, protection and reintegration of children leaving armed groups, formalized in the form of a memorandum of understanding signed in July 2008 (see paras. 47 and 49 above).
