The interests of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories must be at the heart of our efforts.

The Non-Self-Governing Territories of the region are expected to benefit from this network, as several of them have done in the framework of UNESCO regional projects in broadcasting, journalism and video training.

The Special Committee will continue to conduct seminars with the participation of representatives of the Non-Self-Governing Territories for the purpose of receiving and disseminating information on the situation in the Territories, in order to facilitate the implementation of its mandate.
وستواصل اللجنة الخاصة عقد حلقات دراسية يشارك فيها ممثلو الأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي من أجل الحصول على المعلومات المتصلة بالوضع في الأقاليم ونشر هذه المعلومات بغية تيسير تنفيذ ولايتها.

Substantive assistance was provided to representatives of the Non-Self-Governing Territories through the regional seminars of the Special Committee held in the Caribbean and Pacific regions to enhance their understanding of the options of self-determination.
وقـُـدمت مساعدات موضوعية لممثلي الأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي من خلال ما عقدته اللجنة الخاصة من حلقات دراسية إقليمية في منطقتي الكاريبي والمحيط الهادئ لتعزيز وعيهم بخيارات تقرير المصير.

3. Reiterates that any administering Power that deprives the colonial peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories of the exercise of their legitimate rights over their natural resources, or subordinates the rights and interests of those peoples to foreign economic and financial interests, violates the solemn obligations it has assumed under the Charter of the United Nations;
٣ - تكرر التأكيد على أن أية دولة قائمة باﻹدارة تحرم الشعوب المستعمرة اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي من ممارسة حقوقها المشروعة في مواردها الطبيعية أو تقدﱢم المصالح اﻷجنبية الاقتصادية والمالية على حقوق تلك الشعوب ومصالح إنما تخرق الالتزامات الرسمية التي أخذتها على عاتقها بموجب ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة؛

16. In preparing working papers for the Committee, the Department collected information on the situation in the Non-Self-Governing Territories from many sources.
16 - وأثناء عملية إعداد ورقات العمل للجنة، جمعت الإدارة معلومات عن الوضع في الأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي من مصادر كثيرة.

Welcoming the participation, in the capacity of observer, of those Non-Self-Governing Territories that are associate members of the regional commissions in world conferences in the economic and social sphere, subject to the rules of procedure of the General Assembly and in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and decisions, including resolutions and decisions of the Assembly and the Special Committee on specific Territories,

Resources for visiting missions of the Special Committee and for travel of representatives from Non-Self-Governing Territories to participate in the work of the Special Committee are provided for separately under section 2, General Assembly and Economic and Social Council affairs and conference management.
وتُغطَّى المواردُ اللازمة للبعثات الزائرة التي توفدها اللجنة الخاصة ولسفر الممثلين عن الأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي من أجل الاشتراك في أعمال اللجنة الخاصة، بشكل مستقل في إطار الباب 2، شؤون الجمعية العامة والمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي وإدارة المؤتمرات.

The decrease in the number of Non-Self-Governing Territories from 64 in 1961, when the Committee was established, to 18 in 1992 is clearly indicative of the universal support of the international community for decolonization and for the work of the Special Committee.
إن تناقص عدد اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي من ٦٤ أقليما في عام ١٩٦١ عندما أنشئت اللجنة إلى ١٨ إقليما في عام ١٩٩٢ لدليل واضح على تأييد المجتمع الدولي العام ﻹنهاء الاستعمار ولعمل اللجنة الخاصة.
