25. On 9 January, at the request of a member of the Security Council, the members heard a briefing by the Secretariat on the humanitarian situation along the Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberian borders.

44. Many delegations welcomed the consultations held by the Secretariat on sample rules of engagement and requested that the relevant document be shared with Member States.
44 - ورحب العديد من الوفود بالمشاورات التي أجرتها الأمانة العامة حول عينة من قواعد الاشتباك وطلبت مشاركة الدول الأعضاء في الوثيقة ذات الصلة.

In order to limit the secrecy in the Council's work, a concerted effort was made to improve the dissemination of information about the activities of the Council and to hold more open briefings in order that non-members of the Council can benefit from the information provided by the Secretariat on various situations and conflicts and express their opinions on the decisions taken.
وبغية الحد من سرية عمل المجلس، بذلت جهود متضافرة لتحسين نشر المعلومات حول أنشطة المجلس، ولعقد مزيد من الإحاطات الإعلامية المفتوحة ليتمكن غير الأعضاء في المجلس من الاستفادة من المعلومات التي توفرها الأمانة العامة حول شتى الحالات والصراعات، ومن الإعراب عن آرائهم في القرارات المتخذة.

11. The Special Committee had come to the conclusion that its relationship with the General Assembly needed to be enhanced so as to improve the efficiency of the work of the Special Committee and allow for closer consultations with the Secretariat on peacekeeping issues.

6. To request the Arab League's Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization to prepare a report on cooperation with the Secretariat-General on the development of Arab cultural action and its mechanisms based on the recommendations concerning culture in the report of the Independent High-Level Committee for the Reform and Development of the Arab League.
6 - الطلب من المنظمة العربية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم إعداد تقرير بالتعاون مع الأمانة العامة حول تطوير العمل الثقافي العربي وآلياته في ضوء التوصيات الواردة في تقرير اللجنة المستقلة رفيعة المستوى لإصلاح وتطوير الجامعة العربية في جوانبها الثقافية.

Taking note of the report prepared by the Secretariat-General on monitoring implementation of the outputs and resolutions of the Arab Economic, Development and Social Summit (Kuwait, 19-20 January 2009) and of progress made in implementing these outputs and resolutions in the following areas:

129. The Conference commended the results and resolutions of the international conferences and fora held by the General Secretariat on Culture, Da'awa and Islamic Civilization with a view to correcting the cultural image of Islam in the world.

129. The Conference praised the results and resolutions of the international conferences and symposia organized by the General Secretariat on Islamic culture, Dawa, and civilization in order to correct the civilizational image of Islam in the outside world.

111. The Conference appreciated the scientific standard of the study conducted by ISESCO in coordination with the General Secretariat on its vision and efforts to promote dialogue among civilizations and the publishing of the third revised edition of the White Book, which contains international documents on dialogue among civilizations.
111 - أشاد بالمستوى العلمي للدراسة التي أعدتها الإيسيسكو بالتنسيق مع الأمانة العامة حول رؤيتها وجهودها في مجال تعزيز الحوار بين الحضارات وعلى إصدارها للطبعة الثالثة المنقحة للكتاب الأبيض المتضمن للوثائق الدولية للحوار بين الحضارات.

The Ministerial Council examined the note of the General Secretariat concerning relations between the GCC States and other States and international groups, and welcomed the positive results achieved so far in the negotiations between the GCC States and the People's Republic of China.
وفيما يتعلق بعلاقات دول المجلس مع الدول والمجموعات الدولية، اطلع المجلس الوزاري على مذكرة الأمانة العامة حول هذا الموضوع، ورحب بالنتائج الإيجابية التي تم تحقيقها، حتى الآن، في المفاوضات بين دول المجلس وجمهورية الصين الشعبية.
