The Advisory Committee also recommends that the additional security staff proposed in relation to the PACT projects under section 34 (Safety and security) of the proposed programme budget for the biennium 2010–2011 in document A/64/6 (Sect. 34)/Add.1 be reviewed in the light of the above recommendations.

The net increase in resources under security and safety services of $1.0 million, after discontinuance of one-time provisions totalling to $1.3 million approved for the biennium 2002-2003, would provide full funding for the additional security officers posts established in the biennium 2002-2003 for Headquarters, and for additional security measures for protection of the Secretary-General when he is travelling.
