In particular, the programme will assist the space community to understand the operational mechanisms, the interactions within the disaster management community and the interdependence among players at the local, provincial and national levels.

The Committee welcomed the special presentations made before the Subcommittee on various topics and noted that such presentations provided complementary technical content for the deliberations of the Subcommittee, timely and useful information on new programmes and developments in the space community and illustrative examples of space technology.
86- ورحّبت اللجنة بالعروض الإيضاحية الخاصة التي قُدّمت أمام اللجنة الفرعية حول مختلف المواضيع، وأشارت إلى أن تلك العروض توفر محتوى تقنيا تكميليا لمداولات اللجنة الفرعية ومعلومات آنية ومفيدة عن البرامج والتطورات المستجدة في الأوساط المعنية بالفضاء وأمثلة إيضاحية على تكنولوجيا الفضاء.

There was consensus within the space community that appropriate measures for debris mitigation, and in the future possibly active debris removal, would have to be implemented to preserve the space environment for future generations.
وثمة توافق في الآراء داخل الأوساط المعنية بالفضاء مفاده أنَّ الحفاظ على البيئة الفضائية لصالح الأجيال المقبلة يحتّم اتخاذ ما يلزم من تدابير لتخفيف الحطام فيها والاضطلاع مستقبلا بالأنشطة الممكنة لإزالته منها.

(c) The generation of pertinent information by using data, images and products that the space community makes available free of charge.
(ج) توليد المعلومات ذات الصلة عن طريق استخدام البيانات والصور والمنتجات التي توفرها الأوساط المعنية بالفضاء مجاناً.

Altogether, participants represented 42 national, regional and international organizations belonging to the space community, the disaster risk management community, the emergency response community, knowledge transfer and academic institutions, and internationally active private companies.
وإجمالا، مثَّل المشاركون 42 منظمة وطنية وإقليمية ودولية تنتمي إلى الأوساط المعنية بالفضاء والأوساط المعنية بإدارة مخاطر الكوارث والأوساط المعنية بالتصدي للطوارئ، ومؤسسات نقل المعارف، والمؤسسات الأكاديمية، وكذلك شركات القطاع الخاص الناشطة دولياً.

It was also felt that the community needed a better understanding of the value of space-based information products. A lack of discussion between the space community and end users was one of the factors that had created the gap.
ورُئي أيضاً أنَّ المجتمع المحلي بحاجة إلى فهم أفضل لقيمة النواتج المعلوماتية الفضائية؛ فقد كان الافتقار إلى المناقشات بين الأوساط المعنية بالفضاء والمستعملين النهائيين أحد العوامل التي أدَّت إلى نشوء تلك الثغرة.

The view was expressed that the space community should consider preparing a specific articulation of the essential contribution made by space science and technology to the evolution of a global information society for submission to the second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society, to be held in Tunis in November 2005.
61- وأُبدي رأي مفاده أن الأوساط المعنية بالفضاء ينبغي أن تنظر في إعداد بيان تفصيلي يبرز الإسهام الأساسي لعلوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء في تطوّر مجتمع المعلومات، لتقديمه إلى مؤتمر القمة العالمي لمجتمع المعلومات في مرحلته الثانية التي ستعقد في تونس العاصمة في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2005.

The view was expressed that the international cooperation mechanisms of the space community should be extended to include partnerships with entities engaged in development assistance, thus strengthening the contribution of space technology and its applications to sustainable development goals and the post-2015 development agenda.
173- وأُعرِب عن رأي مفاده أنه ينبغي توسيع نطاق آليات التعاون الدولي لدى الأوساط المعنية بالفضاء بحيث تشمل شراكات مع الكيانات المنخرطة في تقديم المساعدة الإنمائية، مما يعزِّز مساهمة تكنولوجيا الفضاء وتطبيقاتها في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة وجدول الأعمال الإنمائي لما بعد عام 2015.
