The fourth biennial report of the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime reports on the progress achieved in the implementation of the Action Plan.

A total of 90 States replied to the questions in the fourth biennial questionnaire on judicial cooperation.

Pursuant to that request, the Secretariat forwarded to Member States the biennial reports questionnaire for the preparation of the fourth biennial report of the Executive Director.

At its fiftieth session, the Commission will consider the fourth biennial report of the Executive Director on the implementation of the outcome of the twentieth special session of the General Assembly and assess progress made by States towards the goals agreed at that session.

(a) Under item 4, on the follow-up to the twentieth special session of the General Assembly, the fourth biennial report of the Executive Director on the implementation of the outcome of the twentieth special session of the Assembly (E/CN.7/2007/2 and Add.1-6);
(أ) تقرير المدير التنفيذي الإثناسنوي الرابع عن تنفيذ نتائج الدورة الاستثنائية العشرين للجمعية (E/CN.7/2007/2 وAdd.1 إلى Add.6)، في إطار البند 4، عن متابعة الدورة الاستثنائية العشرين للجمعية العامة؛

The attention of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs is drawn to information concerning activities related to demand reduction presented in an addendum to the fourth biennial report of the Executive Director on the implementation of the outcome of the twentieth special session of the General Assembly, devoted to countering the world drug problem together (E/CN.7/2007/2/Add.1).
4- يُسترعى انتباه لجنة المخدرات إلى المعلومات عن الأنشطة المتصلة بخفض الطلب على المخدرات، الواردة في وثيقة مضافة إلى تقرير المدير التنفيذي الإثناسنوي الرابع عن تنفيذ نتائج دورة الجمعية العامة الاستثنائية العشرين المخصصة لمواجهة مشكلة المخدرات العالمية معا (E/CN.7/2007/2/Add.1).

The present report contains a summary and analysis of the replies received from Member States to the fourth biennial questionnaire concerning progress made towards meeting the objectives relating to judicial cooperation set by the General Assembly at its twentieth special session (hereinafter referred to as " the General Assembly objectives " ).
3- ويشتمل هذا التقرير على ملخص وتحليل للإجابات التي وردت من الدول الأعضاء على الاستبيان الإثناسنوي الرابع بشأن التقدّم المحرز نحو تحقيق الأهداف التي حدّدتها الجمعية العامة في دورتها الاستثنائية العشرين (والمشار إليها أسفله باسم " أهداف الجمعية العامة " ) فيما يتعلق بالتعاون القضائي.

However, comparing the information provided in the replies to the fourth biennial questionnaire with that provided in previous reporting periods indicates that progress during the last reporting period has been modest (see figure XXIX).

The present addendum to the fourth biennial report of the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) reports on the progress achieved by Governments in implementing the Action Plan on International Cooperation on the Eradication of Illicit Drug Crops and on Alternative Development (General Assembly resolution S-20/4 E) of 1998.
1- هذه الإضافة إلى التقرير الإثناسنوي الرابع المقدّم من المدير التنفيذي لمكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدّرات والجريمة، تبلِّغ عن التقدّم الذي أحرزته الحكومات في تنفيذ خطة العمل بشأن التعاون الدولي على إبادة محاصيل المخدّرات غير المشروعة وبشأن التنمية البديلة لعام 1998 (قرار الجمعية العامة دإ-20/4 هاء).

The Commission considered the second biennial report (E/CN.7/2003/2 and Add.1-6) at its forty-sixth session, the third biennial report (E/CN.7/2005/2 and Add.1-6) at its forty-eighth session, the fourth biennial report (E/CN.7/2007/2 and Add.1-6) at its fiftieth session and the fifth report (E/CN.7/2008/2 and Add.1-6) at its fifty-first session.

At its fiftieth session, in 2007, the Commission considered the fourth biennial report of the Executive Director on the world drug problem (E/CN.7/2007/2 and Add.1-6) and requested, in its resolution 50/12, that the fifth report on the world drug problem, drawing together information gathered through all previous biennial reports questionnaires, be submitted to it at its fifty-first session, in 2008.
7- ونظرت اللجنة، خلال دورتها الخمسين في عام 2007، في التقرير الإثناسنوي الرابع من المدير التنفيذي عن مشكلة المخدرات العالمية E/CN./7/2007/2) وAdd.1 إلى (Add.6، وطلبت، في قرارها 50/12، أن يقدّم إليها، إبّان دورتها الحادية والخمسين في عام 2008، التقرير الخامس عن مشكلة المخدرات العالمية، الذي يضم المعلومات التي جُمعت من خلال كل الاستبيانات السابقة الخاصة بالتقارير الإثناسنوية.
