The premise of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is that everyone should enjoy their rights " without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status " (art. 2).
والمنطق الذي نبع منه الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان هو أن كل إنسان ينبغي أن يتمتع بحقه " دون تمييز من أي نوع، من قبيل العنصر، أو اللون، أو الجنس، أو اللغة، أو الدين، أو الرأي السياسي أو غيره، أو الأصل الوطني أو الاجتماعي، أو الممتلكات، أو المولد، أو أي وضع آخر " (المادة 2).

This report is hereby presented pursuant to Commission resolution 2003/21 whereby it recalled that the purpose of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the full promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms and stressed that one of the purposes of the United Nations is to achieve international cooperation in solving international problems, inter alia, of economic, social, cultural and humanitarian character.
