We acknowledge the importance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international instruments in the promotion of human rights.
إننا نعترف بأهمية الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان وكذلك بالوثائق الدولية الأخرى التي تعزز حقوق الإنسان.

The deprivation of liberty of Chief Ebrima Manneh is arbitrary, being in contravention of articles 9, 10 and 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and of articles 9, 14 and 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

وعلى الرغم من أن حقوق الطفل منصوص عليها بوضوح في الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان وكذلك في اتفاقية حقوق الطفل وواردة في اتفاقية القضاء على جميع أشكال التمييز ضد المرأة، فإن العديد من الطفلات العاملات في المنازل يتعرضن لانتهاك حقوقهن يوميا.

This can be drawn from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and also reflects the reality in many countries, where national legislation outlines the responsibilities of business with regard to human rights.
ويُستشف ذلك من الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان() وكذلك من الواقع السائد في بلدان عديدة، حيث ينص القانون الوطني على مسؤوليات قطاع الأعمال التجارية فيما يتعلق بحقوق الإنسان().

(b) When the deprivation of liberty results from the exercise of the rights or freedoms guaranteed by articles 7, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20 and 21 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and, insofar as States parties are concerned, by articles 12, 18, 19, 21, 22, 25, 26 and 27 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (category II);
(ب) إذا كان الحرمان من الحرية ناجماً عن ممارسة الحقوق أو الحريات التي تكفلها المواد 7 و13 و14 و18 و19 و20 و21 من الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان وكذلك في حالة الدول الأطراف في العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية، المواد 12 و18 و19 و21 و22 و25 و26 و27 من العهد (الفئة الثانية)؛

In its resolution 1989/59, the former Commission on Human Rights recognized the right of everyone to have conscientious objections to military service as a legitimate exercise of the right of freedom of thought, conscience and religion, as laid down in article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
5- وقد اعترفت لجنة حقوق الإنسان السابقة في قرارها 1989/59 بحق الجميع في إبداء استنكاف ضميري عن الخدمة العسكرية كممارسة مشروعة للحق في حرية الفكر والوجدان والدين كما هو منصوص عليه في المادة 18 من الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان وكذلك في المادة 18 من العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية().

The source considers that the detention of this person falls under category II of the criteria applicable to the consideration of cases submitted to the Working Group, since it arises from the exercise of the rights or freedoms guaranteed by articles 7, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20 and 21 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and articles 12, 18, 19, 21, 22, 25, 26 and 27 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
12- ويرى المصدر أن احتجاز هذا الشخص يندرج ضمن الفئة الثانية من المعايير التي يستند إليها الفريق العامل لدى النظر في القضايا المعروضة عليه لأنه نتيجة لممارسة حقوق أو حريات منصوص عليها في المواد 7 و13 و14 و18 و19 و20 و21 من الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان وكذلك في المواد 12 و18 و19 و21 و22 و25 و26 و27 من العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية.

In opinions No. 2/2002, No. 9/2004, No. 2/2007 and No. 12/2010, the Working Group declared house arrest as arbitrary detention, in particular when it lacked any of the safeguards of arrest and detention under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and, for State parties, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
وفي الآراء التي تحمل الأرقام 2/2002، و9/2004، و2/2007، و12/2010()، اعتبر الفريق العامل الإقامة الجبرية احتجازاً تعسفياً، ولا سيما عندما تفتقر إلى أي من ضمانات إلقاء القبض والاحتجاز المنصوص عليها في الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان وكذلك بالنسبة إلى الدول الأطراف، المنصوص عليها في العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية.
