1. On 20 June 2005, the fifteenth Meeting of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea appointed a Credentials Committee consisting of the following nine members: Bahamas, Canada, Czech Republic, Greece, Grenada, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa and Uganda.

4. The Committee had before it a memorandum by the Secretariat, dated 17 June 2005, on the status of credentials of representatives participating in the fifteenth Meeting of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

11. In the light of the foregoing, the present report is submitted to the fifteenth Meeting of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

19. The Chairman of the Commission updated the fifteenth Meeting of States Parties to UNCLOS on the activities of the Commission by conveying the information contained in his letter dated 5 May 2005 to the President of the Meeting (SPLOS/129).

7. At the opening meeting of the forty-third session (868th meeting) and before assuming their functions, the members elected at the fifteenth Meeting of States Parties to the Convention, on 30 July 2008, made the solemn declaration provided for in rule 15 of the Committee's rules of procedure.

At the fifteenth Meeting of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (16-24 June 2005), we were appointed as auditors of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, Hamburg (also referred to as " the Tribunal " ) for the financial period from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2008.

During the fifteenth Meeting of States Parties to UNCLOS, several delegations referred to the benefits of the Hamilton Shirley Amerasinghe and the United Nations Nippon Foundation of Japan fellowships to developing countries and urged States that were in a position to do so to contribute to the Hamilton Shirley Amerasinghe Fellowship Programme.
