The Chairman read out an oral decision concerning the accreditation of non-governmental organizations to the International Meeting in Mauritius.

25. Another round of informal consultations prior to the International Meeting in Mauritius had recently been concluded.

It should be noted that the national and regional reports will be considered to be in draft form, to allow Governments and regions to further refine, elaborate and develop their inputs in time for the International Meeting in Mauritius.

2. Expresses its profound gratitude to the Government of Mauritius for having made it possible for the International Meeting to be held in Mauritius and for the excellent facilities, staff and services so graciously placed at its disposal;

Furthermore, pursuant to resolution 57/262, a voluntary fund has been established for the purpose of assisting small island developing States, including the least developed among them, to participate fully and effectively in both the Mauritius international meeting and the various regional preparatory meetings and processes.
