Over a period of two and a half days, participants had systematically assessed the contribution of FDI to the transfer and diffusion of technology for sustainable development in developing countries, especially LDCs.

25. Mr. Roberto Flores Bermudez (Honduras), reported the outcome of the Expert Meeting on the Contribution of Foreign Direct Investment to the Transfer and Diffusion of Technology and Know-how for Sustainable Development in Developing Countries, Especially Least Developed Countries.
25- قدّم السيد روبرتو فلوريس برموديس (هندوراس) تقريراً عن نتائج اجتماع الخبراء المعني بمساهمة الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر في نقل ونشر التكنولوجيا والدراية العملية من أجل التنمية المستدامة في البلدان النامية، وبخاصة أقل البلدان نمواً.

1. The Expert Meeting on the Contribution of Foreign Direct Investment to the Transfer and Diffusion of Technology and Know-how for Sustainable Development in Developing Countries, Especially Least Developed Countries met on 16 - 18 February 2011 to discuss the role of transnational corporations (TNCs) in the transfer and diffusion of technology, with a particular focus on the needs of the least developed countries (LDCs).
1- انعقد اجتماع الخبراء المعني بمساهمة الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر في نقل ونشر التكنولوجيا والدراية العملية من أجل التنمية المستدامة في البلدان النامية، وخاصة في أقل البلدان نمواً، في الفترة من 16 إلى 18 شباط/فبراير 2011 لمناقشة دور الشركات عبر الوطنية في نقل ونشر التكنولوجيا، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على احتياجات أقل البلدان نمواً.

This note assesses the contribution of FDI to the transfer and diffusion of technology and know-how for sustainable development in developing countries, taking into account the opportunities and challenges emanating from accelerating technological changes and intensifying competition.
وتقيّم هذه المذكرة إسهام الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر في نقل ونشر التكنولوجيا والدراية العملية لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة في البلدان النامية، مع مراعاة الفرص المتاحة والتحديات الناشئة من جراء تسريع وتيرة التغيرات التكنولوجية وتكثيف المنافسة.
