201. The Scottish Human Rights Commission (SHRC) was created by The Scottish Commission for Human Rights Act 2006, and formed in 2008.

Scotland had its own national human rights institution (the Scottish Human Rights Commission), which currently chairs the European Group of National Human Rights Institutions.

3. The Scottish Human Rights Commission (SHRC) stated that the Scottish Government's initiative to introduce a duty on its Ministers to have " due regard " to the CRC should be extended to other international human rights treaties, but should not be an alternative to the incorporation of these instruments.
