5. In the present-day world, self-determination included the right to participate in elections organized in an atmosphere of freedom and the possibility for all ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities to preserve their identity while participating actively in the life of their country.
5 - إن تقرير المصير، في العالم الراهن، معناه الحق في الاشتراك في انتخابات تجري في جو من الحرية، وتمكن جميع الأقليات العرقية والدينية واللغوية من الحفاظ على هويتها، مع المشاركة النشطة في حياة بلدها.

It is unlawful to restrict the rights of citizens of Azerbaijan to participate in elections of the President of Azerbaijan according to origin, social and property status, racial and national extraction, sex, education, language, attitude to religion, political and other views, or type and nature of occupation (art. 2).
ومما يخالف القانون تقييد حقوق مواطني أذربيجان في الاشتراك في انتخابات رئيس جمهورية أذربيجان على أساس اﻷصل أو المركز الاجتماعي أو حالة الملكية أو الانتماء العرقي أو القومي أو الجنس أو التعليم أو اللغة أو الموقف تجاه الدين أو اﻵراء السياسية أو غيرها أو نوع وطبيعة المهنة )المادة ٢(.

(b) Each member of the staff may participate in elections to a staff representative body, and all staff serving at a duty station where a staff representative body exists shall be eligible for election to it, subject to any exceptions as may be provided in the electoral regulations drawn up by the staff representative body concerned and meeting the requirements of regulation 8.1 (b).
)ب( يجوز لكل موظف الاشتراك في انتخابات إحدى الهيئات الممثلة للموظفين، كما يكون جميع الموظفين العاملين بمركز عمل يضم هيئة ممثلة للموظفين أن يرشحوا أنفسهم للانتخابات فيها، وذلك رهنا بمراعاة أي استثناءات ينص عليها نظام الانتخابات الذي تضعه هيئة تمثيل الموظفين المعنية واستيفاء شروط البند ٨/١ )ب(.

(b) Each member of the staff may participate in elections to a staff representative body, and all staff serving at a duty station where a staff representative body exists shall be eligible for election to it, subject to any exceptions as may be provided in the electoral regulations drawn up by the staff representative body concerned and meeting the requirements of regulation 8.1 (b).
(ب) يحق لكل موظف الاشتراك في انتخابات إحدى الهيئات الممثلة للموظفين، كما يحق لجميع الموظفين العاملين بمركز عمل يضم هيئة ممثلة للموظفين أن يرشحوا أنفسهم للانتخابات فيها، وذلك رهنا بأي استثناءات قد ترد في أنظمة الانتخابات التي تضعها هيئة تمثيل الموظفين المعنية وتلبي اشتراطات البند 8/1 (ب) من النظام الأساسي للموظفين؛
