البيان الصادر عن الرئاسة باسم الاتحاد اﻷوروبي بشأن الانتخابات في كمبوديا

On behalf of the Permanent Representatives to the United Nations of the States Members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), I have the honour to transmit to you herewith the text of a statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of ASEAN on the elections in Cambodia.
بالنيابة عن الممثلين الدائمين للدول اﻷعضاء في رابطة أمم جنوب شرقي آسيا لدى اﻷمم المتحدة، أتشرف بأن أحيل طيه نص بيان أصدره وزراء خارجية رابطة أمم جنوب شرقي آسيا بشأن الانتخابات في كمبوديا.

We are ready to support fully the Constituent Assembly, the drafting of a Constitution and the formation of a new government, resulting from the elections in Cambodia.
ونحن على استعداد ﻷن نساند بالكامل الجمعية التأسيسية، ووضع دستور وتشكيل حكومة جديدة، استنادا إلى نتائج الانتخابات في كمبوديا.

There are major flaws in the administration of elections in Cambodia and urgent and longer-term reforms are needed to give Cambodians confidence in the electoral process and in the workings of the National Election Committee.

On the basis of the information that he received during his sixth mission, the Special Rapporteur is of the view that reforms should be carried out to ensure that elections in Cambodia are free and fair and that Cambodians can exercise their right to democratic governance in a free political environment.

Over the last year, the UN Chronicle produced special sections on the World Conference on Human Rights, International Space Year, the work of the World Health Organization, the debate at the forty-seventh session of the General Assembly, the International Year of Indigenous People, and, most recently, on the new generation of peace-keeping activities and on the results of the elections in Cambodia.
وقدمت مجلة " وقائع اﻷمم المتحدة " أبوابا خاصة عن المؤتمر العالمي لحقوق اﻹنسان، والسنة الدولية للفضاء، وأعمال منظمة الصحة العالمية، والمناقشة التي جرت في الدورة السابعة واﻷربعين للجمعية العامة، والسنة الدولية للسكان اﻷصليين، وآخرا عن الجيل الجديد من أنشطة حفظ السلم وعن نتائج الانتخابات في كمبوديا.

1. Recalling the statement by ASEAN Foreign Ministers on the elections in Cambodia of 18 May 1993, ASEAN welcomes and endorses the successful elections in Cambodia conducted by the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC).
١ - عطفا على البيان الصادر عن وزراء خارجية رابطة أمم جنوب شرقي آسيا بشأن الانتخابات في كمبوديا يوم ١٨ أيار/مايو ١٩٩٣، تعرب الرابطة عن ترحيبها وتأييدها للانتخابات الناجحة التي أجرتها في كمبوديا السلطة الانتقالية لﻷمم المتحدة في كمبوديا.

The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 3237th meeting, held on 15 June 1993, in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the report of the Secretary-General on the conduct and results of the elections in Cambodia (S/25913).
استأنف مجلس اﻷمن نظره في البند في جلسته ٣٢٣٧ المعقودة في ١٥ حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٣ وفقا للتفاهم الذي تم التوصل إليه في مشاوراته السابقة ، وكان معروضا عليه تقرير اﻷمين العام عن سير ونتائج الانتخابات في كمبوديا S/25931)(.
