In 2005, following a request by the Commission on Human Rights, the Secretary-General appointed Professor John Ruggie as his Special Representative on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises, with a mandate to identify and clarify standards of responsibility and accountability for business enterprises with regard to human rights, and to elaborate on the role of States in this regard.
6- في عام 2005 قام الأمين العام، بناءً على طلب من لجنة حقوق الإنسان()، بتعيين البروفسور جون روغي ليكون ممثله الخاص المعني بمسألة حقوق الإنسان والشركات عَبر الوطنية وغيرها من مؤسسات الأعمال والذي أُسندت إليه ولاية تحديد وتوضيح معايير تتعلق بمسؤولية مؤسسات الأعمال ومساءلتها فيما يتعلق بحقوق الإنسان، والإسهاب في تناول دور الدول في هذا الصدد.
