It also requested the secretariat to report on the problems encountered in the use of the guidelines for the preparation of initial national communications by non-Annex I Parties, and on other issues raised by non-Annex I Parties, with a view to further enhancing the comparability and focus of the communications.

In fulfilling the above-mentioned mandate, the CGE examined the initial national communications submitted to the secretariat.

Additionally, the CGE identified technical problems and constraints that have affected the preparation of initial national communications by non-Annex I Parties that have yet to complete them, in accordance with decision 31/CP.7.

The SBI further took note of the information provided by the GEF, as an operating entity of the financial mechanism, on its activities in support of initial national communications by non-Annex I Parties (FCCC/SBI/2002/INF.12);

The COP, by its decision 2/CP.9, requested the secretariat to prepare a sixth compilation and synthesis of information contained in all initial national communications submitted up to 1 April 2005 for consideration at its eleventh session.
وطلب مؤتمر الأطراف في مقرره 2/م أ-9 إلى الأمانة أن تقوم بإعداد التجميع والتوليف السادس للمعلومات الواردة في جميع البلاغات الوطنية الأولية المقدمة حتى 1 نيسان/أبريل 2005 لينظر فيها في دورته الحادية عشرة.

Background: The COP, by its decision 30/CP.7, requested the secretariat to prepare the fourth compilation and synthesis of initial national communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (non-Annex I Parties), based on the national communications submitted between 1 June 2001 and 1 June 2002, and an executive summary covering all the initial national communications submitted as at 1 June 2002.
