In September 1997, ICHRDD convened a non-governmental organization expert meeting to discuss the legal framework of her mandate and to review the status of data on violence against women. “Report of the NGO Expert Meeting on the Mandate of the Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, its Causes and Consequences” was published by ICHRDD in October 1997.
