37. The Committee notes the increase in the number of intercountry adoptions in the State party.

The Committee recommends that the State party take legislative measures to ensure that in cases of adoption the decision of the judge is supported by relevant information regarding both the child and the adopting parents in order to ensure that adoption is in the best interests of the child.

The lack of monitoring with respect to domestic and intercountry adoptions is also a matter of concern.

81. Since the ratification of The Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of inter country adoption in 2008, work has been carried out to domesticate its provisions.
