The development of space technology and its applications has resulted in significant contributions to key sectors of the Lebanese national economy.
وقد أدى تطوير التكنولوجيا الفضائية وتطبيقاتها الى مساهمات مهمة في القطاعات الرئيسية للاقتصاد الوطني اللبناني .

On the matter of the space and Earth environments, it had decided to further request the Commission on Sustainable Development to bring to the notice of its members the useful role of space technology and its applications in assisting sustainable development.
وفيمـا يتعلـق بمسألة البيئتين الفضائية واﻷرضية، قررت أن تطلب مرة أخرى من لجنة التنمية المستدامة لفت انتباه أعضائها إلى الدور المفيد التـي يمكن أن تلعبه التكنولوجيا الفضائية وتطبيقاتها في المساعدة على تحقيق التنمية المستدامة.

It had focused on regional cooperation in the use of space and had provided an opportunity for space and user agencies in the region to discuss cooperation in the development of space technology and applications and to strengthen partnerships.
وقد ركّز المنتدى على التعاون الإقليمي في استخدام الفضاء ووفر فرصة للوكالات الفضائية ووكالات مستخدمي الفضاء في الإقليم لمناقشة التعاون في تطوير التكنولوجيا الفضائية وتطبيقاتها وفي تقوية الشراكات.

The series of symposiums is part of the United Nations Basic Space Technology Initiative (BSTI), a new initiative in the framework of the United Nations Programme on Space Applications that aims to support capacity-building in basic space technology and promote the use of space technology and its applications for sustainable development.
وسلسلة الندوات هي جزء من مبادرة الأمم المتحدة لعلوم الفضاء الأساسية، وهي مبادرة جديدة يُضطلع بها في إطار برنامج الأمم المتحدة للتطبيقات الفضائية وتهدف إلى دعم بناء القدرات في مجال تكنولوجيا الفضاء الأساسية والترويج لاستخدام التكنولوجيا الفضائية وتطبيقاتها من أجل التنمية المستدامة.

The United Nations has the mandate to promote international space cooperation and to assist its Member States with capacity-building in the use of space technology and its applications.
5- أُسندت إلى الأمم المتحدة ولاية تعزيز التعاون الدولي في مجال الفضاء ومساعدة دولها الأعضاء على بناء القدرات بشأن استخدام التكنولوجيا الفضائية وتطبيقاتها.

However, it was soon recognized that many countries lacked the capacity and expert knowledge to make optimal use of space applications and that space science activities could offer a cost-effective, entry-level path for capacity-building in the use of space technology and its applications.
بيد أنه جرى التسليم سريعاً بأنَّ بلداناً عديدة تفتقر إلى ما يلزم من قدرة ومعرفة متخصِّصة لاستخدام التطبيقات الفضائية على النحو الأمثل وأنَّ أنشطة علوم الفضاء يُمكن أن تشكِّل مدخلاً فعَّال التكلفة إلى بناء القدرات على استخدام التكنولوجيا الفضائية وتطبيقاتها.

4. ASEAN commended the efforts of COPUOS to make Sentinel Asia more effective, enhance the development of space programmes in the Asia-Pacific region and promote regional cooperation in the field of space technology and its applications.
4 - ثم أعرب عن إشادة الرابطة بجهود لجنة استخدام الفضاء الخارجي في الأغراض السلمية في جعل مشروع الرصد الخفيري لآسيا أكثر فعالية، وزيادة تنمية البرامج الفضائية في منطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ، والنهوض بالتعاون الإقليمي في ميدان التكنولوجيا الفضائية وتطبيقاتها.

Space science continues to be of fundamental importance to the ability of nations to utilize space technology and its applications for the benefit of their societies in that it advances our knowledge about the universe and humankind's role and destiny in it, stimulates the development of new technology, applications and solutions that enable us to address the challenges facing humanity, and inspires people from all walks of life, young and old.
وما زالت علوم الفضاء تتَّسم بأهمية حاسمة بالنسبة لقدرة البلدان على استخدام التكنولوجيا الفضائية وتطبيقاتها لفائدة مجتمعاتها من حيث إنها تزيد من معرفتنا بالكون ودور البشرية ومصيرها فيه وتحفِّز استحداث تكنولوجيا وتطبيقات وحلول جديدة تسمح بالتصدِّي للتحدِّيات التي تواجه البشرية وتُلهِم الناس من جميع الفئات والأعمار.

(g) National activities will support the expansion of the use of space technology and its applications, strengthening of technological competitiveness and utilization of international cooperative frameworks.
)ز( ستدعم اﻷنشطة الوطنية توسيع نطاق استخدام التكنولوجيا الفضائية وتطبيقاتها ، وتعزيز القدرة التنافسية التكنولوجية ، والاستفادة من اﻷطر التعاونية الدولية .

23. Japan believes international cooperation in space activities is becoming increasingly important and actively seeks to promote international cooperation, aimed at obtaining space benefits for all human beings, by playing a major role in the development of space technology and its applications.

The Preparatory Conference took into consideration the objectives of UNISPACE III, focusing on (a) enhancing the understanding of Member States of the role and use of space technology in social and economic development; (b) issues associated with implementing space technology and applications programmes; and (c) improving and facilitating regional and international collaboration.
