23. Her delegation particularly welcomed the agreed conclusions concerning violence against women adopted by the Commission on the Status of Women at its latest session, but emphasized that all forms of prostitution must be condemned and combated.
٢٣ - وأعربت عن ترحيب وفدها على وجه الخصوص، بالاستنتاجات المتفق عليها المتصلة بالعنف ضد المرأة التي اعتمدتها لجنة مركز المرأة في دورتها اﻷخيرة ولكنها أكدت على ضرورة ادانة ومحاربة جميع أشكال البغاء.

Welcoming the detailed comments adopted by the Commission on the Status of Women and the Committee for Programme and Coordination on the revised system-wide medium-term plan for the advancement of women, 1996-2001,
وإذ يرحب بالتعليقات التفصيلية التي اعتمدتها لجنة مركز المرأة ولجنة البرنامج والتنسيق بشأن الخطة المتوسطة اﻷجل المنقحة على نطاق المنظومة للنهوض بالمرأة لفترة السنوات ١٩٩٦-٢٠٠١،

37. The Rio Group welcomed the measures adopted by the Commission on the Status of Women in relation to the eradication of poverty and also the Economic and Social Council’s decision to carry out in 1999 a general review of that subject.
٣٧ - وترحب مجموعة ريو بالتدابير التي اعتمدتها لجنة مركز المرأة فيما يتعلق بالقضاء على الفقر، كما ترحب بما قرره المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي من إجراء استعراض عام للموضوع سنة ١٩٩٩.

Referring to particular sections of the system-wide plan, as well as to comments adopted by the Commission on the Status of Women, the Committee made the following observations.

وإذ يرحب بالتعليقات التفصيلية التي اعتمدتها لجنة مركز المرأة ولجنة البرنامج والتنسيق بشأن الخطة المتوسطة اﻷجل المنقحة على نطاق المنظومة للنهوض بالمرأة للفترة ١٩٩٦ - ٢٠٠١،

In its resolution 1998/12, the conclusions adopted by the Commission on the Status of Women on, inter alia, the human rights of women, in which the Commission proposed that the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Division for the Advancement of Women should continue to prepare the joint annual work plan and strengthen cooperation and coordination in human rights activities.
وأيد المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي في قراره ١٩٩٨/١٢، الاستنتاجات التي اعتمدتها لجنة مركز المرأة والتي اقترحت فيها اللجنة أن تواصل مفوضية اﻷمم المتحدة لحقوق اﻹنسان وشعبة النهوض بالمرأة إعداد خطة عمل سنوية مشتركة وتعزيز التعاون والتنسيق في مجال اﻷنشطة المتعلقة بحقوق اﻹنسان.

The Committee supported and reiterated the extensive and thorough comments that had been adopted by the Commission on the Status of Women on the draft of the plan (resolution 40/10, annex).
