Some speakers underlined the threat that organized crime posed to the security, development, democracy and political stability of societies, and stated that transnational organized criminal groups were taking advantage of technological developments and the globalization of the economy, as well as increased trade, travel, telecommunications and computer links.
45- وأبرز بعض المتكلّمين ما تمثّله الجريمة المنظمة من تهديد لأمن المجتمعات وتنميتها وديمقراطيتها واستقرارها السياسي، وذكروا أن الجماعات الإجرامية المنظمة عبر الوطنية تستغل التطوّرات التكنولوجية وتَعولُم الاقتصاد، وكذلك تزايد التبادل التجاري والسفر والاتصالات والوصلات الحاسوبية.

Some speakers emphasized the seriousness of trafficking in flora and fauna, raising concern about the increased involvement of transnational organized criminal groups in those activities, as well as their environmental, economic and social consequences.
95- وشدّد بعض المتكلمين على خطورة الاتجار بالنباتات والحيوانات البرية، وأبدوا قلقهم من ازدياد ضلوع الجماعات الإجرامية المنظمة عبر الوطنية في تلك الأنشطة، وكذلك من عواقبها البيئية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية.

In its decision 4/6, the Conference noted that reducing the illicit manufacturing of and trafficking in firearms was one of the major components of the efforts to reduce the violence that accompanied the activities of transnational organized criminal groups and that there was a need for strengthened international cooperation.
2- وقد لاحظ المؤتمر، في مقرره 4/6، أن الحدّ من صنع الأسلحة النارية والاتجار بها بصورة غير مشروعة يمثّل أحد العناصر الرئيسية في الجهود الرامية إلى الحدّ من العنف الذي يصاحب أنشطة الجماعات الإجرامية المنظمة عبر الوطنية وأن ثمة حاجة إلى تعزيز التعاون الدولي في هذا الصدد.
