We welcome the appeal by the General Assembly to the Secretary-General and the United Nations Coordinator of International Cooperation on Chernobyl for continued efforts to enhance the coordination of international efforts in this area.

In that regard, the Committee recommended to the General Assembly that the Secretary-General be requested to submit proposals for consideration by the Committee at its thirty-ninth session on ways in which full implementation as well as the quality of mandated programmes and activities could be ensured and could be better assessed by and reported to Member States.

20. Further to the request of the General Assembly to the Secretary-General to circulate the enhanced definition of mercenaries contained in the final report of the Special Rapporteur, OHCHR, on behalf of the Secretary-General, sent a note verbale on 25 March 2004 to Member States requesting a response by 31 May.
20- وتبعاً لطلب الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يعمم التعريف المُحسَّن للمرتزقة الوارد في التقرير النهائي للمقرر الخاص، فقد أرسلت المفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان، بالنيابة عن الأمين العام، مذكرةً شفوية إلى الدول الأعضاء في 25 آذار/مارس 2004 تطلب فيها رداً في موعدٍ أقصاه 31 أيار/مايو.

2. The present report is submitted pursuant to the request of the General Assembly to the Secretary-General to submit a report to it at its sixty-ninth session on the implementation of the resolution.

It had been concerned to note that none of the organizations had taken steps to address the request made by the General Assembly to the Secretary-General and the executive heads of the funds and programmes, in paragraph 6 of its resolution 58/278, to examine governance structures, principles and accountability throughout the United Nations system.

In its resolution 2004/58, the Commission requested the High Commissioner for Human Rights, in her capacity as Coordinator of the Decade, to submit a final report reviewing activities within the United Nations system under the programme of activities for the Decade and evaluating their results, to the Commission at its sixty-first session, in accordance with the request by the General Assembly to the Secretary-General.
204- وطلبت اللجنة، في قرارها 2004/58، إلى مفوضة الأمم المتحدة السامية لحقوق الإنسان، بوصفها منسقة العقد، أن تقدم إلى اللجنة في دورتها الحادية والستين تقريراً نهائياً يستعرض الأنشطة الجارية داخل منظومة الأمم المتحدة في إطار برنامج أنشطة العقد ويقيم نتائجه، وفقاً لطلب الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام.

Welcomes the request of the General Assembly to the Secretary-General for UNV to develop a plan of action to integrate volunteering in peace and development in the next decade for consideration at its seventieth session, in line with General Assembly resolution 67/138 of 20 December 2012 on integrating volunteering in the next decade;
5 - يرحِّب بطلب الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يتولى متطوعو الأمم المتحدة وضع خطة عمل لدمج التطوع ضمن عمليات السلام والتنمية في العقد القادم للنظر في الأمر في دورتها السبعين وبما يتفق مع قرار الجمعية العامة 138/67 المؤرخ 20 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2012 بشأن تعميم العمل التطوعي خلال العقد المقبل؛

20. Recalls the request made by the General Assembly to the Secretary-General to take the steps necessary to undertake a joint gap and capacity analysis on a priority basis by 2013, with the aim of establishing a technology bank and science, technology and innovation supporting mechanism dedicated to the least developed countries, building on existing international initiatives;
20 - يشير إلى طلب الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يتخذ الخطوات اللازمة لإجراء تحليل مشترك للثغرات والقدرات على سبيل الأولوية بحلول عام 2013 بغرض إنشاء مصرف للتكنولوجيا ووضع آلية لدعم العلوم والتكنولوجيا والابتكار يخصصان لأقل البلدان نموا، استنادا إلى المبادرات الدولية القائمة؛

21. 21 - ونشير أيضا إلى الطلب الذي وجهته الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام بأن يتخذ الخطوات اللازمة للاضطلاع، على وجه الأولوية، بتحليل مشترك للثغرات والقدرات بحلول عام 2013 بغية إنشاء بنك للتكنولوجيا وآلية لدعم العلم والتكنولوجيا والابتكار مخصصة لأقل البلدان نموا، استنادا إلى المبادرات الدولية القائمة.

The reports have been prepared in response to the request of the General Assembly for the Secretary-General to present his annual comprehensive report on developments and issues relating to oceans and the law of the sea.
وقد تم إعداد هذين التقريرين إستجابة لطلب الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام بأن يقدم تقريره الشامل السنوي بشأن التطورات والقضايا ذات الصلة بالمحيطات وقانون البحار.

13 - وتلاحظ اللجنة الاستشارية أن الدعوات التي وجّهتها الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام من أجل تحديد موارد إضافية تخصص لحساب التنمية لم تحظ بالتوفيق.

However, his delegation had to agree with the Advisory Committee that the calls by the General Assembly for the Secretary-General to identify additional resources for the Account had not met with success, that its funding mechanism had not proved to be successful, and that the Account's base was unlikely to grow.
إلا أن وفده لم يكن أمامه سوى أن يتفق مع اللجنة الاستشارية في أن الدعوات التي وجهتها الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام لتحديد موارد إضافية تخصص للحساب لم تحظ بالتوفيق، وأن آلية تمويله لم تثبت نجاحها، ومن غير المحتمل أن تنمو قاعدة موارد الحساب.
