17.5 As regards protection of the rights of female migrant workers, the Lebanese courts do not discriminate when applying criminal or civil law, whether or not the claimant or victim has Lebanese nationality or foreign nationality. The foreign nationality of the victim does not under any circumstances constitute a reason to reduce the perpetrator's sentence (Mount Lebanon Criminal Court (23 June 2000)).
