21. Convention concerning Minimum Age for Admission to Employment

It had ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child and its two Optional Protocols, as well as ILO Convention No. 182 concerning Worst Forms of Child Labour and ILO Convention No. 138 concerning the minimum age for admission to employment.

As a result of these developments, the Apprenticeship and Vocational Education Act was amended to increase the minimum age of employment to 14 and regulate work conditions with particular attention to the health and educational/training opportunities for those who enter the workforce at a young age.
