From 20 to 23 May 1997, the Special Rapporteur participated in the fourth meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives, experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures and advisory services programme, held in Geneva.

experts and chairpersons highlighted the importance of addressing violence against children in the context of economic, social and cultural rights, the link between environmental problems such as trade in toxic wastes and violence against children, and the effect of globalization on violence against children.

From 18 to 22 June 2001, she participated in the eighth annual Meeting of Special Rapporteurs/Representatives/experts and chairpersons of the special mechanisms of the Commission on Human Rights, held in Geneva.
وفي الفترة الممتدة من 18 إلى 22 حزيران/يونيه 2001 شاركت المقررة الخاصة في الاجتماع السنوي الثامن للمقررين الخاصين/الممثلين/الخبراء ورؤساء الآليات الخاصة التابعة للجنة حقوق الإنسان الذي عُقد في جنيف.

37. On 29 May 1995, in Geneva, the High Commissioner addressed the Second Meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairpersons of the special procedures and advisory services programme of the Commission on Human Rights, as part of his efforts to reinforce coordination and cooperation between the United Nations human rights mechanisms themselves and between the mechanisms and his office.

Within the framework of related activities of the Commission on Human Rights, the Special Rapporteur participated in the second Meeting of special rapporteurs/special representatives/experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures of the Commission on Human Rights and of the advisory services programme, which took place from 29 to 31 May 1995.

The focal point would act as a clearing house, receiving information concerning all informal contacts that the special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairpersons of working groups and the High Commissioner for Human Rights are having with a given Government about a possible visit.

The chairpersons continued the consideration of the item and discussed their cooperation with Special Rapporteurs/ Repre- sentatives/experts and chairpersons of working groups of the Special Procedures of the Commission on Human Rights and of the advisory services programme, and with regional human rights mechanisms.

74. The next meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures of the Commission on Human Rights and of the advisory services programme would take place at the United Nations Office at Geneva from 28 to 30 May 1996.

One of the major events in this regard was the meeting of special rapporteurs/ representatives/experts and chairpersons of working groups of the special procedures of the Commission on Human Rights and of the advisory services programme of the Centre for Human Rights held from 30 May to 1 June 1994 in Geneva.
وكان أحد اﻷحداث الرئيسية في هذا الصدد هو اجتماع المقررين الخاصين/الممثلين/الخبراء ورؤساء اﻷفرقة العاملة للاجراءات الخاصة للجنة حقوق اﻹنسان ولبرنامج الخدمات الاستشارية التابع لمركز حقوق اﻹنسان، والذي عُقد في الفترة من ٠٣ أيار/مايو إلى ١ حزيران/يونيه ٤٩٩١ في جنيف.

8. The first act of the Special Rapporteur was to participate in a meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairmen of working groups of the special procedures of the Commission on Human Rights which was held at Geneva from 29 to 31 May 1995, in accordance with Part II, paragraph 95 of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action.
٨- وكان أول إجراء اتخذته المقررة الخاصة هو المشاركة في اجتماع للمقررين الخاصين/الممثلين/الخبراء ورؤساء اﻷفرقة العاملة لﻹجراءات الخاصة للجنة حقوق اﻹنسان، عقد في جنيف في الفترة من ٩٢ الى ١٣ أيار/مايو ٥٩٩١، وفقاً للفقرة ٥٩ من الجزء الثاني من إعلان وبرنامج عمل فيينا.

The meeting was organized as a follow-up to the World Conference on Human Rights and to the prior two meetings of special rapporteurs/representatives/ experts and chairmen of working groups of the special procedures and the advisory services programme of the Commission on Human Rights, which were held in 1994 and 1995.
١- نظم الاجتماع في إطار متابعة المؤتمر العالمي لحقوق اﻹنسان والاجتماعين السابقين للمقررين الخاصين/الممثلين/الخبراء ورؤساء اﻷفرقة العاملة لﻹجراءات الخاصة وبرنامج الخدمات الاستشارية للجنة حقوق اﻹنسان اللذين عقدا في عام ٤٩٩١ وعام ٥٩٩١.

Prior to the adoption of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, an informal meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairmen of working groups of the special procedures was held at Geneva during the preparatory process leading to the World Conference on Human Rights.
٢- وقبل اعتماد إعلان وبرنامج عمل فيينا، تم تنظيم اجتماع غير رسمي للمقررين الخاصين/الممثلين/ الخبراء ورؤساء اﻷفرقة العاملة للاجراءات الخاصة، عقد في جنيف خلال العملية التحضيرية التي أفضت إلى عقد المؤتمر العالمي لحقوق اﻹنسان.

During the World Conference, a second informal meeting was held at Vienna, to which the special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairmen of working groups of the special procedures contributed a joint declaration (A/CONF.157/9).
وخلال انعقاد المؤتمر العالمي، عقد اجتماع غير رسمي ثان في فيينا أسهم فيه المقررون الخاصون/الممثلون/الخبراء ورؤساء اﻷفرقة العاملة لﻹجراءات الخاصة بإعلان مشترك (A/CONF.157/9).

It also had before it a draft manual for special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairmen of working groups of the Commission on Human Rights, a background paper on the restructuring of the Centre for Human Rights, a background paper on administrative questions including budgetary issues, and a background paper concerning the question of terrorism, all of which were prepared by the Secretariat.
كما كان معروضاً عليه مشروع دليل للمقررين الخاصين/الممثلين/الخبراء ورؤساء اﻷفرقة العاملة للجنة حقوق اﻹنسان، وورقة معلومات أساسية بشأن إعادة هيكلة مركز حقوق اﻹنسان، وورقة معلومات أساسية بشأن المسائل اﻹدارية بما فيها قضايا الميزانية، وورقة معلومات أساسية تتعلق بمسألة اﻹرهاب، وجميعها من إعداد اﻷمانة.

Materials received in London were reviewed by the Special Rapporteur during his visit to Geneva at the end of May 1994 in order to participate in the meeting of special rapporteurs/representatives/experts and chairmen of working groups which had been convened pursuant to Part II, paragraph 95, of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action.
٦- واستعرض المقرر الخاص المواد التي استُلمت في لندن خلال زيارته إلى جنيف في نهاية أيار/مايو ٤٩٩١ من أجل الاشتراك في اجتماع المقررين الخاصين/الممثلين/الخبراء/ورؤساء اﻷفرقة العاملة الذي عُقد عملا بالفقرة ٥٩ من الجزء الثاني من اعلان وبرنامج عمل فيينا.
