249. Under rule 49 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Economic and Social Council, Mr. Weissbrodt proposed that the debate on the subject be adjourned until the fifty-third session of the Sub-Commission.

3. In this regard, the secretariat received the following four working papers prepared by Mr. Weissbrodt which will be issued as documents of the working group at its third session, to be held during the fifty-third session of the Sub-Commission:

500. At the 52nd meeting, on 23 April 2002, Mr. David Weissbrodt, Chairperson of the fiftythird session of the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, introduced his report (E/CN.4/2002/99 and Corr.1).

The Commission on Human Rights, taking note of resolution 2000/14 of 17 August 2000 of the SubCommission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, endorses the SubCommission's request that the Economic and Social Council authorize the Working Group on Indigenous Populations to meet for five working days prior to the fiftythird session of the SubCommission in 2001.
إن لجنة حقوق الإنسان، إذ تحيط علماً بقرار اللجنة الفرعية لتعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان 2000/14 المؤرخ 17 آب/أغسطس 2000، تؤيد طلب اللجنة الفرعية بأن يأذن المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي للفريق العامل المعني بالسكان الأصليين بالاجتماع لمدة خمسة أيام عمل قبل الدورة الثالثة والخمسين للجنة الفرعية في عام 2001.
