The Subcommittee noted that the Secretariat had scheduled the forty-fourth session of the Subcommittee to be held from 4 to 15 April 2005.

The Special Rapporteur submitted her final report to the forty-fourth session of the Sub-Commission in August 1992 (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1992/19), incorporating a set of recommendations, which were reproduced for the guidance of the Commission in the report of the Secretary-General to its forty-ninth session (E/CN.4/1993/22, sect. The Subcommission was informed of the offer by the Government of Lebanon to host the forty-fourth session of the Subcommission in 2009.

The Committee also expressed its appreciation to Mazlan Othman (Malaysia) for her able leadership and contributions during the forty-fourth session of the Subcommittee.
