• coastal State making the submission

Nationals of the coastal State making the submission who are members of the Commission and any Commission member who has assisted a coastal State by providing scientific and technical advice with respect to the delineation shall not be a member of the subcommission dealing with that submission but has the right to participate as a member in the proceedings of the Commission concerning the said submission.
ولا يكون أي من رعايا الدولة الساحلية مقدمة الطلب الذين هم أعضاء في اللجنة وكذلك أي عضو في اللجنة ساعد الدولة الساحلية بتزويدها بمشورة علمية وتقنية فيما يتعلق برسم الحدود، عضوا في اللجنة الفرعية التي تدرس ذلك الطلب، غير أن من حقه الاشتراك كعضو فيما تقوم به اللجنة من أعمال بصدد الطلب المذكور.

2. In case there is a dispute in the delimitation of the continental shelf between opposite or adjacent States, or in other cases of unresolved land or maritime disputes, in relation to the submission, the coastal State making the submission shall:
٢ - في حالة وجود نزاع على تعيين حدود الجرف القاري بين الدول المتقابلة أو المتلاصقة، أو في حالات النزاع البري أو البحري اﻷخرى التي لم تحل، فيما يتعلق بالطلبات المقدمة، على الدولة الساحلية مقدمة الطلب:

14. The Commission then discussed whether any other members of the Commission, in addition to nationals of the coastal State making the submission as well as Commission members who had assisted a coastal State by providing scientific and technical advice, should be deemed ineligible, owing to a potential conflict of interest.
14 - ثم ناقشت اللجنة ما إذا كان ينبغي اعتبار أي أعضاء آخرين في اللجنة، بالإضافة إلى مواطني الدولة الساحلية مقدمة الطلب فضلا عن أعضاء اللجنة، الذين ساعدوا دولة ساحلية من خلال تقديم المشورة العلمية والتقنية لها، غير مؤهلين، بسبب احتمال وجود تنازع مصالح.
