The Committee, while noting that the State party has implemented a food and nutrition programme, expresses its concern at the increasing number of cases of malnutrition, due also to overcrowding in urban areas and the importation of food having high levels of sugar and fat, and at the low levels of breastfeeding.

19. Please indicate whether the State party has assessed and monitored the impact on rural women of the integrated rural development policy and of the national strategy on microfinance (2008-2012) and whether it has taken corrective measures.

(6) The Committee recalls that in several cases, the State party has executed prisoners under sentence of death, although their cases were pending before the Committee under the Optional Protocol to the Covenant and requests for interim measures of protection had been addressed to the State party.

The report indicates that the State party has enacted anti-trafficking legislation regarding children but that it has currently no such legislation regarding women (para. 56), whereas women and girls are increasingly trafficked from and within the State party for the purpose of domestic work as vidomegons, as well as in the agriculture and trade sectors.
9 - يبيّن التقرير أن الدولة الطرف قامت بسن تشريعات مناهضة للاتجار بالأطفال، إلا أنها لم تقدم على سنّ مثل هذه التشريعات فيما يخص الاتجار بالنساء، وذلك رغم زيادة عدد النساء والفتيات المتجر بهن من الدولة الطرف وداخل أراضيها بغرض استخدامهن في الخدمة المنزلية في صورة " خادمات لدى الأسر " وفي قطاعي الزراعة والتجارة.

(3) The Committee notes with appreciation that during the period since the initial report was considered, the State party has ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment and the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, as well as the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

41. The Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination noted with deep concern information that the State party had internally forcibly displaced populations, targeting in particular ethnic Uzbeks, to inhospitable parts of Turkmenistan (CERD/C/TKM/CO/5).
